2008 Schools'  Basketball League Closes
The 2008 season of the Schools’ Basketball League came to a close on Friday June 27 with a prize giving ceremony in the VIP Lounge of the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The League went off incident free despite a few challenges with play-offs because of rescheduled CSEC exams.

The north, east and Tobago zones were, as usual, out in full force.  Representation from the south and central zones still leaves a lot to be desired yet the good news is that first time participants St Benedict’s College and Barrackpore Secondary Comprehensive made great impressions both on and off the court!

Under 17 Boys North Zone MVP Adnickos Wilson from St Benedict’s College and Female Open South Zone MVP Anna Huggins spoke about the benefits gained from participation in the league.  Apart from the obvious benefits of making friends, learning about team spirit and fair play, both players also explained how playing basketball helped them with dealing with their emotions, anger management, focusing on their studies and disappointment when faced with defeat.
